Description
Finding Sutherland is an immersive exploration of gravity fields. A Comet dances around hidden gravity with a mesmerizing elliptical orbit until colliding with a gravity source. Listen, each gravity source has a voice to guide you as you find your way.
History
HistoryThis project is the result of a 2 year collaboration between Artist and Programmer, Liz and Scott Black. Scott coded the first prototype in Buffalo New York while working as a software engineer in 2016, as Liz was finishing an MFA at State University of New York. Wanting to bring movement to Liz's paintings, orbital mechanics were chosen for natural animation. The project evolved as the two road tripped through the United States camping and hiking with their labradoodle Willow in National Forests until eventually ending up at Lake Sutherland in Washington. The studio is now based in the Bear River Mountains in Utah.
FeaturesA meditative experience of music and art through gameplay. Simple one button controls with complex yet intuitive orbital mechanics movement. Hours of meditative exploration of hand-drawn landscapes of cosmic patterns by Liz Black. Original music by Nathalie Bonin in Spatial Audio.
